Ahh Greek Week, that thing that kept you hanging on through a dreary and overcast February.

The big excuse for a party is held in May and boasts the noble cause of serving as a fundraiser for the Katherine Cooper Cater Leukemia Fund. They do all of the things a good gathering of Greeks is expected to do: blood drive, donations, wings eating contest, bat race and the day of "Greek Games."

There's a mattress race, a lot of mud slinging competitions, banners, t-shirts and more. "Although the week was filled with exciting events" the Glom notes "the underlying reason for the fun was leukemia."

Let me just tell you ...

Doesn't say here how much was raised, but we are a compassionate people the Auburn folk of my generation, so let's just say they made more money than any other collection of college students anywhere, ever.

The particular event pictured here is called the spoon race. A spoon with a string attached was passed down the line, each contestant had to wriggle it through their clothes before passing it along. At the end of the event, you've built some teams, bonded some individuals and had fun in the name of leukemia!
