The cover of the 1996 Glomerata, the 99th edition of the yearbook.
Grunge music had reached its apex, there was a full on rebellion against style and taste and fashion, but then every generation has that remarked handed to them. None of these problems bothered us, secure as we were in our own happy self-contained environment.
The scan almost does do it justice. The leather cover has that faux marble impression, it is in reality a darker black, featuring the bell tower of Samford Hall.
"Passing the Torch" didn't scan well because of the metallic, reflective properties, but the editors went with the Olympic theme here because of the coming Atlanta Games. The back of the book is simple, clean and carries only the imprint of the University's seal.
Inside we're all frozen in amber, beautiful, stupid, young and strong. Ahh, the mid-90s.
