She closed her performance with "Thank you for coming."
In between the yearbook says that Dionne Warwick put on a brilliant performance. Once again they make sure to point out that only 4,500 people showed up for the show.
Mose Jones opened the homecoming show and didn't get such a kind reception, but all was forgiven when Warwick came out.
Warwick performed for only an hour, but the concert reviewer was impressed by Warwick's portrayal of her own songs and "Get Down Tonight" and bumping hips with her dancers. All of that is a little difficult to contemplate after "Say a Little Prayer for You" and "Do You Know the Way to San Jose?"
Also tough to imagine: Warwick would become a psychic pitchwoman aimed at these same students just a few decades later.
