Claire Marshall was a sophomore education major from a small town in southwest Georgia. There were about 365 people living there when she was growing up.

She married a Dr. Clarence Sapp. Her obituary says she was a basketball player in high school, which would have been something to see in a 1940s small town. She was a homemaker. When she passed away in 2009 she had one daughter, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
